Lagu ini  merupakan sebuah album kompilasi yang dirilis pada tahun 1995. Peristiwa ulang tahun adalah hal yang dialami setiap orang setahun sekali, tapi setiap hari sudah pasti ada orang yang berulang tahun. Kita mengenal theme song untuk acara ulangtahun adalah lagu SELAMAT ULANG TAHUN atau HAPPY BIRTHDAY atau PANJANG UMURNYA.. yang sudah sangat melegenda dan tidak tergantikan. Sudah barang tentu, lagu-lagu tentang ulang tahun sebenarnya adalah materi yang sangat dibutuhkan tapi justru jarang disentuh oleh musisi dan penyanyi kita. Ada beberapa yang membuat lagu bertema ulangtahun tapi tidak ‘berani’ menjadikannya sebagai single andalan, sehingga kehadirannya seperti tidak terdeteksi karena ada di urutan ke sekian dalam kaset. Salahsatu yang ‘berani’ menjadikan lagu bertema ulangtahun sebagai single andalan adalah ‘kelompok’ bernama ELITE. Lewat album KADO ULANG TAHUN mereka menawarkan lagu bertema ulang tahun yang easy listening.
