Seleksi Atlet Popda Cabang Taekwondo Pengkot Tangerang 2020.Pengkot Kota Tangerang dengan menggandeng sponsor Makzom mengadakan seleksi atlit Cabang Taekwondo yang akan di turunkan di kejuaraan Popda yang rencananya akan di laksanakan di bulan maret 2021 yang akan datang. Seleksi ini di ikuti sebanyak kurang lebih 45 atlet Teakwondo dari berbagai club yang memenuhi syarat untuk mengikuti Popda yang akan di laksanakan di tahun 2021 yang akan datang. Untuk pelaksanaannya di adakan di Gedung Golkar tanggal 13 Desember 2020 yang sebelumnya pelaksanaan akan di laksanakan di GOR Balai Rakyat namun karena berkaitan dengan situasi Pandemi dan Kota Tangerang Termasuk dalam Zona Merah dan pihak Dispora sementara waktu menutup sarana olahraga untuk mengurangi resiko penyebaran Covid 19 yang ada di Kota Tangerang.

Briefing sebelum dilaksanakan seleksi

Dalam pelaksanaan seleksi ini panitia menerapkan aturan ketat dengan tidak memperbolehkan penonton masuk di sekitar arena dan hanya Coach dan atlet yang di perbolehkan berada di ruangan dengan menerapkan protokol covid 19. Seleksi Atlet Popda Cabang Taekwondo ini hanya di ikuti oleh beberapa atlet untuk mengisi kekosongan kelas karena di beberapa kelas yang ada sudah terisi oleh atlet puslatcab yang memang sudah di persiapkan jauh hari sebelumnya.

Dari jumlah atlet putra yang mengikuti seleksi sejumlah 23 atlet telah terpilih  8 atlet yang akan mengikuti pemusatan latihan, sedangkan untuk atlet putri dari 22 atlet yang mengikuti seleksi terpilih 6 atlet yang akan mengikuti pemusatan latihan. Total atlet yang terekrut dari hasil seleksi berjumlah 14 atlet. Selanjutnya untuk Atlet yang telah terpilih akan langsung mengikuti pemusatan latihan di Gedung Golkar mulai hari senin 14 desember 2020 dengan Pelatih Kepala Sabeumnim Sofyan. Untuk Popda yang akan datang Sabeumnim Sofyan mentargetkan Perolehan medali 6 Emas, yaitu 5 emas untuk kyorugi dan 1 emas untuk Poomsae.
